NCC is both Protestant and evangelical. We affirm the
validity and truth of the ancient creeds of the One, Holy, Catholic and
Apostolic Church, especially the Nicene Creed.
We also emphasise those
doctrines that characterise the Evangelical tradition:
| * |
salvation
by grace alone through personal faith in the atoning death of Jesus
Christ, |
| * |
the
infilling power of the Holy Spirit, |
| * |
and
the authority of Holy Scripture as the supreme rule of life and faith. |
Our membership includes
Christians from Protestant and Orthodox backgrounds.
The principles and practice of our church are laid out in the Church
Constitution. Decisions implementing these principles are
made by Church Elders, ordained for life, and the Church Deacons,
elected to two-year terms by the members of the church.
