Membership

NCC is a body of Christian believers under the lordship of Jesus Christ, whose members are committed to the goals, standards, and responsibilities contained in NCC’s Statement of Faith and the Church Covenant.

Membership may be held by any professing Christian who is seeking to live according to the truth of God's Word and who has received Christian baptism, either as an infant or as a believer. Membership may be based on a profession of faith, or by letter of transfer, or, where one's membership is retained in one's home church, by membership during one's residency in Cyprus.

Membership, by whichever method it begins, is regarded as complete in itself and exclusive of association with any other ecclesiastical body, on or off the island.

BECOMING A MEMBER

Individuals applying for membership must be at least 15 years old, and may apply for membership on the basis of a verbal request to the Pastor or an Elder. Prior to being accepted, you’ll have an interview with the Pastor and Elders. Following their approval, you will take the following vows when the congregation welcomes you:

I believe in one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and I profess my personal relationship with Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord.

I promise to support the witness of my church by attending faithfully, by living a godly life, and by giving regularly of my time, talents, and money for my church's work in the world. (Hebrews 10:25, Philippians 1:27, 1 Corinthians 16:2)

I promise to protect the unity of this church by acting in love towards other church members, by refusing to gossip, and by obeying the teaching and following the example of the leaders. (Romans 14:19, 1 Peter 1:22, Ephesians 4:29, Hebrews 13:17)

I promise to share the responsibility of NCC by praying for its growth, by inviting others to attend, and by warmly welcoming those who visit. (1 Thessalonians 1:1-2, Luke 14:23, Romans 15:7)

I promise to serve the ministry of this church by discovering my gifts and talents, by being equipped to serve by my minister, and by developing a servant's heart.
(1 Peter 4:10, Ephesians 4:11-12, Philippians 2:3 - 4:7)

I promise, depending on the grace of God, to confess Christ before men, to serve Him in my daily work, and to walk in His ways all the days of my life.
